Christmas Trees and Lights

We put up our Christmas trees and Kennedie loves the lights. When she wakes up and comes down stairs, the first thing we have to do is turn on the lights. She stares at the lights and touches them and tells us about them. She loves seeing the Christmas lights in the neighborhood. Every night when we come home, she has to go see the lights at the neighbor's house. We took her to the Temple to see the lights and she wanted to climb the stairs. It was cold and the stairs are made of granite. She did enjoy the lights and seeing the nativity.

Taking a break at Beaver

On the way home from Grandma Suzie's, we had to stop at Beaver to give Kennedie a break. We stopped at the McDonald's and let her play in the play area. She loved climbing in and seeing Dad at the end of the tunnel, but then she couldn't figure out how to turn around and go back to the beginning. Jer had to go in after her, and she eventually figured it out.

The Holidays at Grandma Suzie's

We went up to Roy for Thanksgiving and had so much fun catching up and being with family. Kennedie was sick the first few days, so she didn't really warm up to anyone. But she still had fun we think. While we were up, Grandma Suzie made edible turkeys with the kids. Kennedie just wanted to cookies, so we gave her one. Of course they were covered with chocolate and she loved them!
We had Christmas while we were up there too. Kennedie loved opening the presents. It didn't matter what was in them, just that they were wrapped and she got to open them. She then liked the boxes that the gifts came in more than the actual gifts.
We also got to see Ami (Jer's sister) and her family while we were up. They recently had a new addition to their family, Owen, and they blessed him on Saturday. Afterwards, we visited with family and Kennedie was entertained by "Toy Story." This is a picture of one of her typical positions for watching a movie. Jer and I also took a picture of us while we were there, and here is that as well. We have also included a picture of Jer's perfected "blue steel" look. He has been working on this one for a while now.

Hair do's for Kennedie

I decided I should take some pictures of Kennedie's hair when it gets done so I have a reference for me when I need ideas for how to do her hair. She loves getting her hair done, especially at the babysitters. She knows right where to find all the bows and clips. The first ones were done by her babysitter, and the last one is done by me. Sorry the picture isn't that great. Kennedie doesn't hold still anymore for anything except for when she sleeps, and even that is questionable...

Kennedie's early Christmas present

We ordered these "Nemo" figurines online and when we finally got them, we couldn't wait until Christmas to give them to Kennedie. She loves them and carries them around whenever she discovers them again in her toy box. We could always rewrap them for Christmas, she isn't going to know any different, right?

Happy Halloween!

We couldn't decide what to dress Kennedie up as for Halloween. We saw some costumes online, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend $30 for a costume we will probably end up using only once. So when we discovered her hair could be put into ponytails, we decide to make her a ladybug for Halloween and use the pig tails as her antenna. I ended up making the wings and they actually turned out really cute.

We went to a Halloween party a few days before Halloween and dressed Kennedie up. She had fun and loved the rocks there. Katie, the hostess, loves to throw parties. She had a scaveger hunt all set up and then a few games for the kids. It was a blast!
On Halloween we went and visited Grandma Dawn. Kennedie loved eating the popcorn and then getting some to feed to her dog, Milo. Kennedie loves dogs until they jump on her, and that's just what Milo loves to do. But Kennedie still fed him popcorn from a safe distance. One for Kennedie, one for Milo.
We then went to Grandma Bonnie's house and played there for a while, then it was time for bed. Trick-or-treating doesn't mean a lot to a 1-year-old. But when we got home we did go to one of our neighbor's houses to get a picture of Kennedie trick-or-treating.

Pig Tails!

We never thought Kennedie's hair was long enough to put into ponytails or do anything with until I picked Kennedie up one day from the babysitters and her hair was done. Since then, we try to do it everyday (yes, even Jeramie does her hair sometimes). This is the first time I did her hair and I decided to try pig tails. They turned out so cute and gave the inspiration to have Kennedie dress up as a ladybug for Halloween. She never really kept a headband on so that was not an option and then when we did pig tails we decided those could be her antenna.

Newspapers

One day in October, Kennedie discovered the newspapers by everyones door at our complex. She went around and collected them. She piled them up and dropped them several times. She was so proud of herself.

Kennedie & the Slide

We have discovered that Kennedie hates the swings, but her favorite playground toy is the slide. She loves to go down and then she tries to climb back up the slide. We all know how that works...So here are some pictures of her on the slide at Jer's work party this fall.
